PlanningNeighborhood & Advocacy Planning
COG develops plans for neighborhoods and special population groups. We work collaboratively with residents and businesses to address problems such as gentrification, foreclosures, community economic development, and loss of historic resources. Toward these ends, we design strategies that align with the larger community’s financial, organizational, and political capacity. If needed, we also provide project information, presentations, and meeting materials in translation for limited English proficient populations so that everyone can participate with confidence.
We use our expertise to help historic preservation, public health, and housing groups advocate for their interests. In this work, we highlight and champion the needs of people with little efficacy in the political process. Through technical assistance and hands-on support, we help them build organizational capacity and become effective agents of change.
These services relate closely to our Community Development Planning practice.
